Eyelid Rejuvenation (surgical and non-surgical)

Blepharoplasty (eye lift) involves recontouring and refreshing excess skin and “bags”

on the upper and lower eyelids while maintaining the natural shape of the eye. Dr.

Kroll customizes her approach based on each patient’s anatomy and skin elasticity.

For hollowing of the under-eye/“tear trough” area, resulting in the appearance of dark

circles, non-surgical techniques with Restylane® or Juvéderm® may reduce

shadowing effects.

Botox®

  • Botox® (Botulinum Toxin Type A) is an FDA-approved, non-surgical treatment for glabellar “frown” or “scowl” lines between the eyebrows.

  • Crow’s feet around the eyes and forehead wrinkles may be treated as well.

  • Botox® typically works best on dynamic wrinkles, lines that form with movement of the face or with facial expressions.

  • Dr. Kroll’s philosophy is to neuromodulate, or relax, the areas of interest, aiming for a natural appearance.  Dr. Kroll does not believe in overtreating or “freezing” such areas and works with patients to reach achievable cosmetic goals.

Juvéderm®

  • Juvéderm is an FDA-approved filler in the form of a smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin.

  • Juvéderm is applied under the skin to quickly restore volume.

  • Smile lines, also called nasolabial folds, that run from the bottom of the nose to the corners of the mouth and other facial wrinkles are treated.

Restylane® and Perlane®

  • As one matures, the face may lose volume.  Restylane and Perlane are FDA approved products for filling moderate to severe wrinkles such as the nasolabial folds.  Lips and other facial contours can also be treated.

  • These products are made from hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body and skin.

  • Restylane® is primarily used for superficial lines, while Perlane®, which contains larger molecules, is often used for deeper lines.

  • Results of hyaluronic acid fillers can typically be seen immediately and last up to 6-12 months.

Sculptra®

  • Sculptra® (Poly-L-lactic acid) is approved by the FDA for the restoration and/or correction of facial fat loss (lipoatrophy) in people with human immunodeficiency virus.

  • Sculptra® is a biocompatible, biodegradable material that has been widely used for many years in dissolvable stitches and soft tissue implants.

  • This material is applied beneath the surface of the skin in areas of fat loss in order to increase skin thickness, rebuild collagen and restore lost volume.

  • Multiple treatments may be necessary for full correction.

  • Benefits from the treatment can last for up to two years.

Chemical Peels

Superficial peels can help fight fine lines, sun damage, environmental assaults and pigmentary changes. Alpha hydroxy acid and other peeling agents are used to rejuvenate and restore affected skin, with rapid recovery.  A series of peels are recommended for optimal results.  All skin types and colors can be treated.  SkinMedica® Vitalize® and Illuminize® peels are primarily utilized.

Fraxel re:pair® laser

  • Fraxel re:pair® laser is an FDA-approved treatment for fractional resurfacing of the eye area and face.

  • Fraxel re:pair® treatment tightens skin and corrects more significant wrinkles, irregular texture, age spots and sun spots by stimulating new collagen and elastin production.

Upper and lower eyelid wrinkles, treated with Fraxel re:pair laser.

Brow lift

Eyebrows can descend with time and may be associated with drooping of the eyelids as well, suggesting a tired appearance. The brows can be lifted through either a hidden eyelid incision or endoscopically, to restore the brow position.

Lip Enhancement

For lips that may have deflated over time or for lips that are naturally on the thinner side, Restylane® and Juvéderm® may be used to restore volume and create a more voluptuous appearance.

Skin Tag Excision

Tags of skin on the face or around the eyes can be excised with radiofrequency energy in the office.

Superficial vessels

Over time, vessels on the face and nose can become more prominent and unsightly.  Radiofrequency energy can be used to make these superficial vessels less apparent.
